Google restores services after multiple users face outage

Source: Reuters Many users complained about the outage that affected Alphabet Inc's search engine Google and its streaming and email services late Monday. Services were restored shortly thereafter, according to Downdetector. According to Downdetector, platforms such as YouTube, Google, and Gmail were unavailable. Users reported issues accessing the website and logging in from North America. The outage monitoring website revealed that more than 1,000 users were experiencing problems with the search engine at any one time. Users were also having issues with YouTube TV or Google Drive. The reports of a Google downtime on Downdetector dropped to single digits by Tuesday morning. It was unclear at this time what the issue was with the platforms. After business hours, Google did not respond immediately to Reuters' request for comment. Downdetector monitors outages by collecting status reports from a variety of sources, including user-submitted mistakes on its platform.
