LeT commander, Pakistan accomplice killed in encounter in Srinagar

Police said Tuesday that Nadeem Abrar, a top commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba, and a Pakistani national were both killed in an encounter in Parimpora, the city's Parimpora region.A police spokesperson said that Abrar, a LeT commander involved in numerous killings, was taken into custody during Parimpora's vehicle check on Monday. He was then subject to sustained interrogation.According to the spokesman, LeT commander revealed the exact location of his AK-47 rifle in Maloora.A specific input was made about terrorists attempting to attack highways. He said that few joint checkposts between JK Police and CRPF were set up along the highway to keep in mind the seriousness of this input."On Parimpora Naka (checkpost), a vehicle stopped and the driver was questioned about their identity. The person in the back tried to open his bag, and he pulled out a grenade. The person in the back seat was quickly grabbed by the police team. The driver and the passenger in the back were both taken into custody by police. After removing his mask, it was discovered that he was terrorist Abrar (a top LeT commander),' the spokesman stated.He claimed that Abrar had a pistol and some hand-grenades.After securing the suspect's home, Abrar was taken into the house to retrieve the weapon (AK 47 rifle). A spokesman stated that Abrar entered the house as a party member when one of his accomplices, a Pakistani terrorist, opened fire at them.The spokesman stated that 3 CRPF personnel sustained injuries in the initial round of fire. Abrar, who was accompanying the search party, also suffered injuries.He said that the force was strengthened and they responded with heavy firing. "In the ensuing gunfire the foreign terrorist who had fired from the house was neutralized and Abrar also died." He added that two AK-47 rifles and ammunition were found at the scene. According to the spokesman, Abrar was implicated in multiple killings of security personnel.
