Kathy Willens/Associated PressDylan Bundy's season is on the verge of a major setback after the Los Angeles Angels righthander, who was suffering from heat exhaustion, left Monday's game against New York Yankees.DJ LeMahieu, Yankees' second baseman, was ready to go in the second inning. Bundy started vomiting and DJ LeMahieu took his place. MLB.com's Rhett Bolinger reported that Bundy, a 28-year old, was "visiblely sweating throughout his outing" at Yankee Stadium. It reached 90 degrees.Bundy's season has been difficult to begin with a 6.68 ERA, 60 strikeouts and 63 innings pitched in 13 starts. He looked nothing like the 2011 Baltimore Orioles drafted him fourth overall. He posted a 4.24 ERA and 152 strikeouts over 169.2 innings.Bundy's Baltimore experience was a disappointment. Before being traded to the Angels in 2018, Bundy had a 4.67 ERA over five seasons. He was positive about the trade, posting a 3.29 ERA with 72 strikeouts over 65.2 innings in 11 starts.Los Angeles relies on Bundy as a stabilizing force in its backfield rotation, as it seeks to make the playoffs for the first time since 2014. The past three seasons have seen him make a total of 72 starts. He has been mostly healthy.
