To mark 15 years since Lionel Messi made his debut for Barcelona, adidas Football has debuted a special-edition pack in honor of the legendary player. Reworking the NEMEZIZ 19+ football boot silhouette, adidas has added a number of subtle touches that celebrate Messi's record-breaking achievements over the past decade and a half.
The boot's color palette of white and blue is a reference to Messi's Argentinian roots and international career, while gold detailing is a nod to the trophies he has won. Other detailing includes a five-dot motif on the left foot - celebrating his five Ballon d'Ors - as well as his personal M logo on the right foot and "15 AÑOS" written on the arch.
In reference to Messi's preferred foot, the boot's left sock liner is emblazoned with his "10" shirt number. The right boot comes bearing the words "82nd min - 16-10-2004" on its forefront, the exact moment that Messi first stepped into a professional football game.
The special-edition "MESSI 15 YEARS' NEMEZIZ" pack is set to launch via the adidas web store and select stockists on October 19.
