MediaTek's Top Chip Can Be Customized by Phone Makers

MediaTek has made it possible for smartphone companies to access the architecture of its Dimensity 1200 mobile chips. They can customize different elements and adjust features to suit their needs. It means that smartphones with the Dimensity1200 mobile chip can be configured to maximize their other components and include a company's expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence (A.I.). It is clear how the camera processing engine could be used to change future phones. MediaTek has granted access to the image signal processor, (ISP), which allows for changes to the visual processing engines, which control image stabilization, depth maps, colors, and other aspects.This allows phone manufacturers to adjust the camera performance according to their preferences and tune it to match the hardware. Different phones have different camera sensors. They operate in different ways and require additional lens adjustments. Dimensity 1200 phones could have better photo quality if they had more control over their ISP.Dimensity 5G Open Resource Architecture allows for deeper access to display processors to tune the screen and improve power efficiency. It also offers the possibility to add Bluetooth profiles to different accessories and access to API A.I. processor. The original announcement of the chip was made in January 2021. It is currently only available in a few phones sold in India and China by Realme, Oppo and Xiaomi.
