2022 NHL All-Star Game to Be Held in Las Vegas; Blues vs. Wild Set for Winter Classic

Rich Graessle/Icon Sportswire via Getty ImagesMonday night, the NHL announced the exact location of the 2022 NHL All-Star Game as well as the dates and locations of the Winter Classic (and Stadium Series) games.The All-Star Game will take place at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, at the midpoint in the NHL season. Dates for the event-packed weekend will be announced later.The Winter Classic will take place at Target Field, Minnesota on January 1, 2022. It will feature a matchup between the Wild and St. Louis Blues.The Stadium Series will take place at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, between the Nashville Predators & Tampa Bay Lightning on February 26, 2022.The NHL will also hold a Heritage Classic in March. However, more details are still to be announced.This news is timely as Tampa hopes to be crowned again as Stanley Cup Finals champions. They will host Games 1 & 2 before the series shifts from Tampa to Montreal.Since Jan. 2008, the NHL has been hosting its iconic outdoor game, The Winter Classic. The Winter Classic was an instant favorite with hockey fans. However, the Heritage Classic was the league's first outdoor game in 2003.The Winter Classic is only held in the United States while the Heritage Classic takes place in Canada.Since 2014, the Stadium Series features outdoor games in baseball and football stadiums throughout the United States.
