NEW YORK -- Mike Trout, the Los Angeles Angels' 60-day injured-list catcher, was moved Monday by the Angels to prevent him from returning until the All-Star break.Trout hit a bat in the batting cage Monday, his first attempt since May 17th when he injured his right calf.Joe Maddon, Angels manager, said that "he's doing really well actually" before the series opener against New York Yankees. He's on track. He's on target.Maddon stated that Trout's injury has healed more than half of the way. Trout will be going on a minor league rehabilitation assignment after the All Star break. Trout is eligible to return July 17 when the Angels host Seattle.Trout, an eight-time All-Star player and three-time American League MVP was batting.333 and had eight homers and 18 RBIs before he was injured while running the bases against Cleveland. The team still expects Trout to return within six to eight weeks.After Sunday's 6-4 victory at Tampa Bay, Los Angeles released infielder Kean Woong to Triple-A Salt Lake. On Monday, Scott Schebler was selected from Salt Lake.Schebler, 30 years old, was hitting.281 in 40 Triple-A games this season with eight homers. He also had 31 RBIs. He is a seven-year veteran of the big league and hit.148 (4-for-27) in 11 games with Angels between April 19 and May 3.Justin Upton, an outfielder, has been out of action since June 22 due to a strain in his lower right side. He is currently improving."I believe he will be fine. Maddon stated that he should take off when he is ready. He would still not be able move in the batter's boxes like he does normally. We believe he will be able to move in the batter's box within a few days.
