Maya Moore, a WNBA legend, will receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at The ESPYS, July 10, 8 p.m. ET/ABC.Moore, 32, a former WNBA MVP, was sentenced to 50-years in a Missouri prison for burglary and assault. To educate the public about the criminal justice system, she founded the "Win with Justice” campaign and fight for Irons' release.Irons had completed 23 years of his sentence by the time his conviction was overturned on March 20, 2020. Irons was released from prison in July and the couple declared their engagement in September.Moore stated that he was honored to receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. "In the face injustice, the courage and determination to care about justice and human dignity is now celebrated in this significant way. I'm so happy to Jonathan and all those who contributed to this victory."Robin Roberts is the executive producer of the 30 for 30 "Breakaway" which will chronicle Moore's decision to leave the sport in order to devote her life to criminal justice reform. She will present Moore the award on Ashe's 78th Birthday."Breakaway," which will air July 13 at 9 pm ET, will debut on ABC. ET on ESPN, and will reair on ABC August 8.The ESPYS Arthur Ashe Award For Courage has been one of the most prestigious and recognizable honors in sports. The award recognizes global heroes such as Muhammad Ali (1997), Nelson Mandela (2009) and lesser-known heroes like Zaevion Donosu Yeboah (2005). It also honors sports legends like Billie Jean King (1999) and Pat Summitt (2012).
