Report: Mobile gaming revenue grew to nearly $45 billion in the first half of 2021

Sensor Tower's report shows that mobile gaming is on the rise. The tracking service revealed that mobile gaming revenue increased 18% year-over-year to $44.7 billion during the first half 2021.This is a remarkable number, but it still falls short of the growth last year. Partly this was due to the surge in demand that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. Comparatively, revenue increased nearly 26% between 2019 and 2020, moving from $30.2 billion up to $37.9 million in the same time frame. It is also noted that Google Play's Marketplace didn't generate as many mobile gaming revenues as Apple's but it still maintained the same Y/Y growth, rising 24.7 percent from $15 billion to $18.7 Billion in the previous year.Tencent's games topped the downloads and revenue list alongside titles such as Pokmon Go and PUBG Mobile, Roblox and Genshin Impact, Call of Duty: mobile, and Among Us. The best Android games are still being downloaded by people, with Apex Legends Mobile and Pokmon Unite just a few of the many others.Mobile gaming is becoming more popular thanks to cloud gaming services such as Xbox Game Pass for Android. We will likely continue to see this growth for many years. It's clear that mobile gaming is bringing AAA-quality experiences to their devices has begun, and it's not going away anytime soon.
