Hardtkapelle Wielenbach

Hardtkapelle Wielenbach can be found just east of Wielenbach. It is a small chapel. The way of the cross has 15 stations north of this chapel. The most distinctive feature of this chapel, however, is the hole in the stone that runs in front of it. It looks almost like a footprint.Local legend says that this hole is the footprint of the devil. It was formed during a dispute between Haunshofen & Weilheim over pasturage rights in the Hardt region. The argument erupted again and the disputing parties met at the spot where Hardtkapelle Wielenbach now stands to try to resolve the dispute by means of judges. The quarrelling parties were yelling at one another, but suddenly, the devil emerged from the crowd and laid a rock on the ground. He shouted: So wahr, ich trete im diesen Stein, is dies Haunshofer Gein. This incident ended the dispute between Haunshofen und Weilheim. A chapel was built around the stone to protect it. The actual chapel dates back to 1885-1886.Hardtkapelle Wielenbach is also said to be haunted by reports of panic attacks, sudden nausea, dizziness, and dizzy turns from visitors to the chapel. Some claim that a white woman and a black cat were seen at night.
