A United States hammer thrower claims she was offended that the national anthem was being played as she stood on the podium in third place after qualifying for the summer Olympics.Gwen Berry (31), who protested the national anthem before, stated that she felt that the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner at the medal ceremony was an intentional setup because she was told that it would be played prior to her standing on the podium in Oregon.Brooke Anderson and DeAnna Price, first place finishers, stood facing the flag with their hands above their hearts during the anthem.
