Josh Naylor to Undergo Surgery After Scary Outfield Collision with Ernie Clement

David Berding/Getty ImagesJosh Naylor, a Cleveland outfielder, was sent home by Ernie Clement after colliding with him while trying to field a flyball.Naylor was speeding towards the infield, while the second baseman was heading toward the outfield. When they collided, the right fielder was in great pain and flew in the air. After being on the field for several more minutes, he was taken off on a cart.According to Mark Feinsand, MLB.com's Monday morning report, "Naylor sustained a closed fracture in his right ankle and dislocation on Sunday." "Naylor spent the night at a Minnesota hospital, and will be returning to Cleveland today. He will be assessed later in the week to determine the extent and timetable for surgery.Naylor's season average is.255/.304/.403, with seven home runs, and 21 runs batted. While he has spent the majority of his season in right field, he occasionally works at first base.Naylor was acquired by Cleveland as part of the package which sent Mike Clevinger to San Diego Padres last year.Bradley Zimmer took over for Naylor in outfield.
