After dealing with the negative aspects of his first season in New York, Randle has been able to thrive this season.Randle stated to Fat Joe (h/t Begley), in April, that not all players can come to New York and "take the hits, the hits from the city, the hits by the media, the hits for the fans."He said, "That's what you signed up for." "... "...Randle, 26, had a difficult first season with the Knicks in 2019-20. He averaged 19.5 points and 9.7 boards, but he shot only 27.7 percent from the three-point line and the Knicks were dismal 21-45.However, things changed this season. Randle's career records in assists (6.), points (24.1), three-point percentage (41.1%) and minutes (36.7) were all set by Randle. He also tied his career record in rebounding (10.2RPG). The Knicks won the No. 1 seed with a record 41-31 win. The Knicks were the 4th seed in Eastern Conference playoffs and ended a seven-year playoff drought. They lost five games to the Atlanta Hawks. It turns out that those Hawks are quite good. It was still a great season and Randle was one of the best players to build around. There are still questions about his future. Randle is currently under contract for next season. He will be seeking a max deal. It is equally important to get him another star to play with. Although the Knicks were a strong team last season, it is clear that they still have a low ceiling.Randle's future is bright in the Big Apple, however expensive it may be.
