Four of the 10 victims were identified by authorities on Saturday: Stacie Dawn Fang (54), Antonio Lozano (83), Gladys Lozano (79), and Manuel LaFont (54). Officials said that eight victims were found from the rubble and one died in hospital.On Sunday night, Daniella Levine Cava, Miami-Dade County mayor, announced that four more victims had been identified. This leaves 152 people unaccounted for. Because their families were still being notified, she did not reveal their identities.According to the mayor, officials are trying to find out who was responsible for the bodies that were found and how to get in touch with their families. Officials are taking DNA samples from the families of those who have disappeared to help identify some remains. Fang's 15 year-old son was among those who were pulled from the rubble on Thursday. They have been "tirelessly" working through the early hours of Sunday, according to officials. Although search efforts were slowed by a fire at the site, crews were able to extinguish it. Charles Burkett, Surfside Mayor, stated Sunday that the priority was for residents to be pulled out of the rubble as well as to provide support to their families. Cava said that the families received multiple briefings every day and were being updated before the general population. Sources told the Associated Press that there was a tense atmosphere in the hotel ballroom, where 200 family members were briefed Saturday by authorities. The Associated Press reported that families frustrated at the slow pace of rescue efforts sought access to the site of the collapse to try a collective shout to find survivors and to say goodbye to their loved ones. In an Instagram video, Abigail Pereira posted a clip in which an emotional mother criticized officials for failing to do enough to save her daughter and other victims during a briefing with relatives. It's impossible to believe that nobody is alive or dead in just four days. It's impossible. It is not enough. Imagine your children there. He said that there was no resource shortage, but that they have had luck problems. "We need to be a little luckier right now. Cava said there was also no shortage of personnel with six to eight teams actively looking through the pile at any one time and approximately 100 team members available to rotate. She said that "our teams have done an incredible job." Burkett said that the devastating collapse was unusual and alarming. He stated that there was clearly something very, very wrong with the building and that we must investigate it. "But that's not today, tomorrow, or for a long period of time. Our first priority and only priority is to get our residents out from that rubble and reunite them to their families who, understandably, are overwhelmed with emotion, sadness and anger and just want to find out what is going on.The Miami Herald was told by experts who examined video and other evidence that the pool deck collapsed. A 2018 report revealed that the concrete slab beneath the deck had suffered "major structural damage". Cava announced Saturday that there would be an investigation to "get at the bottom of this tragedy." He also announced a 30-day audit for residential properties following the Surfside collapse.Every agency on the ground must prioritize the rescue and search operations.
