New trailers: The Harder They Fall, Ted Lasso, The Suicide Squad, and more

It was a top-rated Netflix show and people were talking about it so I started watching Manifest. I watched five episodes before realizing it was a Lost version with some wacky twists. I won't be falling for that again. The wonderfully weird and wonderful The Good Fight is back. The pilot featured Christine Baranski, Audra McDonald, at their best. I cannot wait to see the rest of the season. We also said goodbye to two of the best characters on the show, boo. Can we also talk about Loki It's impossible to talk about Loki without spoilers, but episode 3 gave us a lot. Most of it I suspect was misdirection.I was so consumed by writing Sunday's trailers post, that I completely missed the Ted Lasso trailer. Derp. You don't have to worry, I have it included here (in the event that you haven't already seen it 1,000 times as I have). The harder they fall, the more difficult. This trailer (sorry it's the official teaser for a Western about rival gangs) opens with a train heist in which Regina King and Lakeith Stanfield release Idris Elba. Lets Start by Fela Kuti is playing, and then they begin to shoot their way out slow-motion. It's almost impossible to absorb all of it at once. Our plot: Outlaw Nat Love, (Jonathan Majors), and Stagecoach Mary (Zazie Beetz), along with Bill Pickett (Edi Ghegi), and Jim Beckwourth(RJ Cyler), are rivals to the recently-released Rufus Buck and his crew, Treacherous Judy Smith King (King), or Cherokee Bill (Stanfield). Damon Wayans Jr. and Delroy Lindo also star in The Harder They Fall. Jeymes Samuel directed the film and it will soon be available on Netflix (hurry! You can read more.Ted LassoTed unleashes Led Tasso, his alter ego to be tough and mean on the struggling Richmond football team. It's so absurd and silly but so Ted Lasso (lol he called them turdbirds what?). Jason Sudeikis, the rest of the cast, are back for the second season. We have less than a month until new episodes. (side note: You can purchase Richmond jerseys at Ted Lasso's merch shop. Season 2 of Ted Lasso will premiere on Apple TV Plus July 23rd.The Suicide SquadIs Idris in every movie this summer? (For the record, I'm very okay with this). James Gunns face off against the supervillains led Elba by Bloodsport (revealed at long last! They will be taking on even more bad guys on remote jungle islands. Margot Robbie stars alongside Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman and Nathan Fillion in The Suicide Squad. It will be available on HBO Max and theaters on August 6th.Shang-Chi, the Legend of the Ten Rings and Shang-ChiThis trailer is the official trailer. We first saw a teaser in April for this movie. Simu Liu portrays Shang-Chi. She was an assassin when she was a child and is now trying to live a normal existence. The latest Marvel movie has almost all Asian actors, including the title character. Yes, Shang-Chi the giant monster is seen fighting in a cage match. It looks like Abomination. Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh and Tony Leung also star in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. It will be released in theaters September 3.SchmigadoonCecily Strong and Keegan Michael Key play a couple who are trapped in a musical until their true love. Okay, fine, why not? The six-episode series features a stellar cast of musical talent including Kristin Chernoweth and Alan Cummings as well as Fred Armisen, Jane Krakowski, Martin Short, Fred Armisen, Fred Armisen and Jane Krakowski. This flick feels either super funny or super cringey. I laughed at Strong's realization that musicals kill people all the time. Schmigadoon! Apple TV Plus will be available on July 16th with new episodes every Friday.
