While parts of northern Nevada, eastern Idaho and northern California have excessive heat watches, some areas of northwestern Nevada and eastern Idaho are under heat advisories. There are heat advisories in some areas of northern California, western Montana, and eastern Idaho.The high temperature in Seattle yesterday was 98°F, but this may still be considered cold compared to tomorrow's forecast high of 109°F, which will break the 12-year-old record of 103°F.Portland will experience a high temperature today of 114 degrees Fahrenheit on Sunday, June 27, 2021.This heat wave could also see the breaking of Canada's record temperature of 45° Celsius (or 113° Fahrenheit)This heat wave is dangerous in parts of the northwestern United States because of the often temperate weather conditions. Many places don't have air conditioning as they aren't needed during warm summer days or cool nights.Expect delays and cancellations to flights if you plan on traveling to the northwest United States or southwestern Canada in the next few days. Stay informed about the latest information regarding this heat wave that could affect your travel plans.
