The serious flight control problem occurred on a test flight Dec 8th 2020. It was originally expected that it would be delivered to airlines by 2020. However, the latest delay means that the jet may now enter commercial service in 2024. This will be four years later than originally planned.Boeing will continue to place safety at the forefront of 777X development. We are putting the plane through extensive testing to prove its safety and reliability. To ensure that we meet all requirements, we have a rigorous development process.Source: Seattle Times
