LAX: Man jumps from plane after trying to access cockpit

He then fled via the emergency slide.He was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries after being detained by the taxiway.In the United States, there has been an increase in flight incidents. This year, there have been approximately 3,000 incidents.Friday's incident took place at 19.10 GMT (02:10 GMT Saturday). It was aboard a United Express flight operated by SkyWest Airlines to Salt Lake City.Crew members reported that the passenger got up from his seat while the plane was taxiing towards the runway. According to NBC News, they said that he had pounded the cockpit door before exiting through the emergency door.Later, the plane, an Embraer 175 regional aircraft, returned to its gate.The incident and the motives of the passenger have been investigated by authorities.The FAA stated earlier this month that it has investigated the most serious potential violations of the law since 1995, when records were first kept.
