According to NBC News, they said that he had pounded the cockpit door before exiting through the emergency door.Later, the plane, an Embraer 175 regional aircraft, returned to its gate.The incident and the motives of the passenger have been investigated by authorities.The FAA stated earlier this month that it has investigated the most serious potential violations of the law since 1995, when records were first kept.
