Lago Maggiore Retreat

Situated in the Ticino region of southern Switzerland, the Lago Maggiore Retreat integrates itself into the alpine landscape. The property will be comprised of 108 private residences, 61 hotel rooms, and a spa and wellness center spread throughout three sites - an urban area with artisanal shops, a botanical garden, and a hamlet nestled into a chestnut forest. The cluster of buildings are placed above the lake and their silhouettes directly respond to their surroundings, mimicking the peaks with clean, gabled forms. To further embrace the natural setting, local techniques and materials, including locally-quarried granite, stucco, and reclaimed chestnut, were used while windows and terraces showcase views across the valley, lake, and mountains.
