Neumann House

Architectural buffs are in for a treat. A residence by the iconic designer and Harvard Five member Marcel Breuer has made its way on the market. The Upstate New York property was originally built in 1953 for artist Vera Neumann. The 4,064 square foot home sits on a 3.4-acre hilltop. Taking advantage of its elevated plot, living spaces are clad in floor-to-ceiling windows enveloping the rooms in views of the Hudson River. The remainder of the interior features six bedrooms and four baths while a private louvered courtyard and a pool occupy the exterior. In 2014, a pair of Breuer fans became the home's third owners and lovingly restored the residence to its current state, staying true to the modernist architect's original vision while making improvements for modern living. Their work earned them a 2019 Preservation League of NY Award for Excellence in Historical Restoration.
