Suite Saturdays: Hagi Suite @ The St Regis Osaka

Located in the heart of the Honmachi district, the St Regis Osaka offers 160 rooms and suites with stunning city views (hotel rooms are located on the 17 ^th to 27 ^th floors). The hotel's interior design, a creation of the G.A Group, was recognized back in 2014 as Best Hotel Interior - Asia Pacific at the Asia - Pacific Property Awards, and also as Best International Hotel Interior at the International Property Awards. According to the designer's portfolio:

The design concept pays homage to the golden age of Japanese history, the Momoyama period - an era of hope, prosperity and harmony, and a time when Japan opened up trade between the east and west; a period which to this day has a deep emotional resonance for the Japanese people. A guest's journey through the St. Regis Hotel begins with the moonlight ambience of the entrance hall, a combination of silver leaf, bronze and dark marble flooring, with the sparkling crystal tree as the centre piece, leading through to the sun-drenched reception zone.

The St Regis Osaka is an outstanding property. I visited this property before the pandemic started and elite recognition is fenomenal: points welcome amenity, breakfast, a welcome drink and a welcome gift, both delivered to my room and minibar credit on top of the room upgrade, all on an award booking, and as a lowly Platinum50. With room prices around $500/night for their base rooms, 60,000 points is a pretty decent deal, better if booked 5th night free.
