Celebrating the 55th anniversary of the 1964 Seiko "Crown" Chronograph - the first ever chronograph from Japan - the Japanese watchmaker has released a limited edition revamp, retaining much of the design from the '60s.
Graced with the iconic black bezel round the rim, the 42mm stainless steel case is treated with a super-hard coating, and houses the brand's top-of-the-range caliber 8R48 with a 48-hour power reserve. While the dial retains much of the original's aesthetic, this modern remake has implemented three subdials for added functionality, as well as a date indicator. The classic reimagination is water resistant up to 100 meters, and comes equipped with a black cordovan strap.
For watch collectors and connoisseurs interested, the Seiko SRQ031 limited edition will be available some time in December this year, but be sure to act fast, as only 1000 units will be made. The price tag comes at €3,400 EUR, or roughly $3,733 USD. To learn more, head over to Seiko's website now.
