While her father Donald Trump calls the National Guard on the protesters, Tiffany Trump has posted on Instagram for Blackout Tuesday, becoming the only Trump to do so.

Trump's daughter posted the signature black square of Blackout Tuesday to Instagram with a quote by Helen Keller-a white woman known for her role in disability rights-rather than a black civil rights activist: "Alone we can achieve so little; together we can achieve so much."- Helen Keller #blackoutTuesday #justiceforgeorgefloyd," reads the caption.
No other prominent Republican political figures or Trump family members have posted to Instagram or Twitter for the somewhat controversial Blackout Tuesday.
Tiffany Trump, President Trump's daughter with Marla Maples, graduated from Georgetown Law School in May; she has not occupied any formal White House or Trump Organization roles like those held by her half-siblings Ivanka, Donald Jr. and Eric Trump.
Some commenters noted controversy in Tiffany Trump's post for Blackout Tuesday, as her father has repeatedly called for violence against protestors and has garnered criticism for lack of solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.
Around the time she posted to Instagram, her father tweeted: "NYC, CALL UP THE NATIONAL GUARD. The lowlifes and losers are ripping you apart. Act fast! Don't make the same horrible and deadly mistake you made with the Nursing Homes!!!"
Notable organizers, activists or celebrities have yet to respond to Tiffany Trump's post to her 1.1 million Instagram followers, though some commenters asked her to speak to her dad about the issue of racism, while others scorned her decision to post for the occasion.
The Blackout Tuesday movement was started by the music industry to pause business-as-usual operations in solidarity with the protesters and to reckon with the fact that the industry has profited from, without giving back to, black culture and communities. It has been widely taken up on social media with 18.5 million uses of hashtag #blackouttuesday with users posting black tiles rather than their usual Instagram pictures. However, the movement has been met with criticism by activists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who say it silences key conversation by misappropriation of the hashtag #blacklivesmatter and lacks meaningful action. The Future of Music Coalition, which advocates for artists, tweeted the movement is the result of "encountering the idea via big companies' social media feeds instead of from the black women who initially called for it."
Jon Platt, the CEO of Sony/ATV and the only black leader of a major global music company said in a letter that "timely action must follow the industry's lyrics. Otherwise, words are ultimately empty."
