It looks like our April Fools joke might become reality. President Trump just said he'll examine a request to pardon Joe "Exotic" Maldonado-Passage, the star of the hugely popular Netflix series Tiger King - and the internet is very amused.

During a White House coronavirus briefing on Wednesday, New York Post reporter Steven Nelson asked Trump if he would consider pardoning Exotic. "(Joe Exotic) is asking you for a pardon, saying he was unfairly convicted. Your son yesterday jokingly said that he was going to advocate for it," Nelson said, referring to a recent interview with SiriusXM radio in which Donald Trump Jr. stated that Exotic's 22-year sentence seemed "aggressive."

"Which son? Must be Don - what did he do?" Trump said, before admitting that he had not seen the docu-series. Despite "knowing nothing about" the case, the President finally concluded that he would "take a look" at the Joe Exotic situation.

The clip has since made the rounds on social media, to split reactions. Many people are calling out the journalist for his tone-deaf question during a coronavirus briefing, while others are, well, amused by Trump. Scroll down to see some of the best reactions, then head over to our April Fools hoax to see how we predicted this bizarre story.

Firstly, this question should not have been asked

Over SIX THOUSAND people have officially died in New York state because of this pandemic. We know that countless more are not being conuted.

Meanwhile, Murdoch's New York Post asks the president about a fucking Netfilx show during a pandemic briefing.

The media is so addicted to sensationalism that a journalist at the Coronavirus Press Conference literally asked Trump whether he will listen to Donald Trump Jr.'s suggestion to pardon Tiger King Joe Exotic for hiring a hit man. We have a broken government and a broken media.

But Don Jr. approves

Carole is fuming

The most extraordinary scenes at the White House briefing. Donald Trump has just said he "will take a look" at pardoning Joe Exotic following broadcast of the Netflix sensation The Tiger King.
Whatever will Carole Baskin think?!

It shouldn't be this easy to get a presidential pardon 🤦‍♀️

Tiger King is America.

Full stop.

You want to know why Donald Trump is the President of the United States?

Watch Tiger King.

I'm not surprised Donald Trump is up there talking about Tiger King. I just thought he'd be talking about Burger King.
