Walt Disney World Closed Photos

Most Disney nerds probably have contemplated what it would be like to enjoy Disney parks when they are closed and without any other guests. Aside from the very most important people and overnight cast members most of us probably won't ever get to experience that feeling, but I present to you the next best thing.

@bioreconstruct is a fantastic member of the Disney (and theme park) community who from time to time hops in a helicopter to take aerial images of the Orlando theme parks. With all of the parks closed he recently took a ride to document them from above and I think the results are pretty cool.

Disney Skyliner

I have now had the opportunity to ride Disney's Skyliner on a few trips and I absolutely love it! I've been a fan of these gondola systems around the world and I think Disney's is fast, efficient, fun and it also provides great views of Walt Disney World. Here you can see the system's main station with all of the closed Skyliner's gondola cars parked.

Disney Springs

Mark is in love Disney Springs. In fact, he has made it clear that Disney Springs is his favorite part of going to Walt Disney World. While I believe the mall is technically open still, almost all of the tenants have now closed and there are very few people making their way around. Seeing Disney Springs from above reminds me of how good a job they did with the recent renovations.

Star Wars Hotel

While Disney opened Star Wars Galaxy's Edge last year, one more huge Star Wars attraction is still under construction. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be a multi-day immersive experience in the Star Wars universe. In these pics you can see the construction progress. Keep in mind this hotel won't have any windows since you will be looking out into space from your room!

Epcot is under huge construction, so it is a unique time to see the massive theme park from above anyway, however without any guests the pics are extra special. For a long time I wasn't a fan of Epcot, but I have to admit it is growing on me. I still think people probably overrate it, however I am starting to see the appeal.

Walt Disney World Closed Photos - Bottom Line

As I mentioned on the podcast, I really love aerials and these photos give me a nice taste of Disney despite the fact that the parks are currently closed to the public. Like so much these days, a lot is up in the air with Disney, but let's hope Mickey can welcome back all of his pals sooner rather than later.
