Donald Glover and adidas have officially ended their partnership after almost two years. The news broke suddenly, with neither partner offering a concrete reason behind the split.

"The Adidas Originals by Donald Glover partnership has come to an end," brand sources confirmed in a statement to Complex, confirmed by HYPEBEAST. "Together Adidas and Glover set out to look beyond the confines of a traditional collaboration inspired by limitless creativity. Adidas continues to be inspired by Glover's visionary creativity and wishes him the best in his future endeavors."

adidas Originals first announced the partnership in September 2018 with a now-deleted animated video, acting as an immediate followup to his "Feels Like Summer" visual. The collaboration offered three releases - the Continental 80, Lacombe and Nizza - in April 2019 and created a buzz when the artist randomly gave away pairs of the Nizza via AirDrop during Coachella.

Other news regarding new brand partnerships are yet to be announced, but it seems like he's focusing on his music once again. Glover recently surprised fans with a looped livestream of an upcoming project entitled Donald Glover Presents, but also took it down just hours after.

adidas' high-profile partnerships show no sign of slowing down, however, as David Beckham fronts the brand's "READY" campaign and Pharrell drops more collaborative sneakers.
