Idris Elba Revealed He Has Tested Positive For Coronavirus

Idris Elba just revealed on his social media that he's tested positive for COVID-19, aka the coronavirus.

Idris said that he does not have any symptoms so far, and that his wife, Sabrina Dhowre, has not been tested yet:

I got tested because I realized I was exposed to someone who had also tested positive. I found out last Friday that they were tested positive, I quarantined myself, and got a test immediately, and got the results back today.

Idris also used the announcement to highlight the importance of social distancing and washing your hands - even if you aren't feeling symptoms.

"There are people out there who aren't showing symptoms, and that can easily spread it, okay? So now's the real time to be really vigilant about washing your hands and keeping your distance."

And he ended his message with a call for "solidarity":

Look, we live in a divided world right now. We can all feel it. It's been bullshit. But now's a time for solidarity. Now's a time for thinking about each other. There's been so many people whose lives have been affected. From those who lost people that they love, to people that don't even have [the virus], and have lost their livelihoods. This is real.

"I just wanted to share my news with you guys, and I will keep you updated as to how I'm doing. But so far, we're feeling okay."
