I went to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show in the same way I've done for the last decade.
What excited you this year, what stood out? What does that say about the future?
There are a few things to take away from this year's Consumer Electronics Show.
Most of the automotive tech was located in West Hall. There were more than one lidar company everywhere I looked. All of these companies can't survive.
There was a lot of technology on display for people to see. The vibe wasn't the same. I didn't get the same hype as ROBOTAXI will be everywhere. There were a lot of commercial and industrial applications for self driving vehicles.
People moving and delivery vehicles are still popular. Some companies displayed these types of vehicles.
EV charging and energy storage were on display at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Mercedes has a plan to launch a global charging network.
The car cabin has evolved into a digital, connected experience that includes augmented reality and virtual reality. BMW reinvented the head-up display, Chrysler gave its vision for your future car cabin, suppliers like Bosch and Forvia showed off its in-car tech, and GM and Microsoft demoed a new video game called Dash Runner to showcase the kind of entertainment consumers might want to play.
Every form of electric vehicle. The Ram 1500 Revolution truck concept was one of the highlights of the press conference. Bikes, motorcycles and three-wheelers, as well as obscure small off roaders, were all EV's.
I was surprised by the amount of robot I saw at the exhibition area for thousands of startup.

At the Consumer Electronics Show, the consumer electronics brand most well-known for inventing the VCR, rode into the micro mobility space with new e- bikes and e-scooters designed to handle everything from commute to off-roading.
The company says the new electric superbike, the VergeTS, transfers power from the electric motor to the road. The space in the middle for the battery pack is created by it. Pre-order it now for $26,900 and it will be delivered in late 2023.
One of China's biggest makers of electric two-wheelers is looking to enter the U.S. market. The manufacturer said it will begin launching a series of marketing campaigns and events geared at kickstarting the brand's growth in the U.S., and will open stores in San Francisco and Los Angeles, as well as work with 100 other brand dealers.

The demonstration showed what sensors, compute and software could do. The mOve research groupo of Politecnico di Milano won the race.
Amnon Shashua gave a talk about the company. Shashua spent a lot of time talking about the path to automated driving, including how the Mobileye SuperVision system will be used in future consumer vehicles.
George Hotz, the founder of Comma.ai who recently fired himself again as CEO and claims he is now a marketing intern, took me for a ride in a car with a Comma 3 development kit. More than 200 models can be worked on by the Comma 3 device. The hardware, which mounts by the mirror, has three cameras, two that watch the road and one that can see inside the car. It has a high-precision gps, as well as cellular, wi-fi, and mics.
Openpilot has evolved and improved based on my experience. On this most recent drive, the vehicle was able to recognize red lights, keep it centered in the lane, make assisted lane changes, and keep a safe distance from other cars and trucks. The ride was smooth.
BMW revealed the i Vision Dee concept car, a four-door sedan came out onstage in a crisp white, but later changed into a variety of colors and patterns to show off Dee's E ink technology.

There are new features that make it easier for drivers to navigate, listen to music, and communicate while on the go, as well as new features that make it easier for drivers to communicate while on the go. A split screen layout that displays directions, music and texts at the same time is what the new user experience design update features.
