One of the top tight ends in college football is leaving school to enter the NFL draft, according to a report.

One year of eligibility is left for Schoonmaker. According to multiple NFL scouts, his ability to have a strong impact on both the run game and pose as a pass-catching threat makes him attractive to teams in the second round.

Schoonmaker said that Harbaugh and the offensive coaches gave him the confidence that he was ready for the next level. I can start the process for the next level now. It's that time with the help of others.

Schoonmaker caught 35 balls this year for 418 yards and 3 touchdown. The Michigan offensive line won the Joe Moore Award for the second year in a row as the nation's top line.

Schoonmaker said he takes a lot of pride in both aspects of the game, and he's grateful for his ancillary role in Michigan's dominant offensive line identity. Schoonmaker's role was added to by the fact that Moore moved over from tight ends coach.

Schoonmaker gave a lot of credit to Moore and Newsome. Everyone that helped develop me. I think they set a standard for the offensive line room and tight end room by being selfish and playing for each other.

Schoonmaker's dual-threat ability made him a difficult opponent. The opposing coach said he was one of the best tight ends he had ever faced.

The coach said that he can out-athletes a defensive back. The run game can be worked on by him. A lot of guys are either running or passing the ball. Guys that can do both are the best.

Schoonmaker will be able to stand out in the tight end class. He said he's looking forward to competing with a group that includes Notre Dame's Michael Mayer, Oregon State'sluke Musgrave, Utah'sdalton Kincaid and Georgia'sDarnell Washington.

Schoonmaker injured his right shoulder late in the season, but he said that he will be ready for the combine and pro day, and will be able to play.

The next few months are exciting for Schoonmaker. It's a chance for us to run against one another and do things against each other. It's an opportunity for me to show what I can do. I'm looking forward to that.

Schoonmaker said that his ability to be a blocker and pass-catching tight end could make him stand out in the draft. He likes studying defenses for holes and defenders for tendencies, as well as mastering the blocking aspect of the position.

He said that he takes pride in trying to get better in both aspects all the time. Both of them are huge components to the position. It is rare to combine that from what I have been told. It can only be to my benefit if I can excel at both.

The Michigan football team went to the College Football Playoff in back-to-back seasons, and Schoonmaker appreciated his time at the school. Over the course of the past two years, they finished with 25 wins.

He said that going to Michigan was the best experience of his life. I was a part of an amazing family that has grown over time. For the rest of my life, I will have coaches and players who feel like fathers and brothers away from home.
