According to The Financial Times, Apple is hiring for its first flagship store in India. Jobs for 12 store worker roles have been found in various locations throughout the country, indicating that Apple is close to opening a store in India.

Jobs at the Apple Store include store leaders, store managers, technical specialists, and Genius Bar staff. According to the report, at least five employees based in Mumbai and New Delhi have announced onLinkedIn that they have been hired for the yet-to-be- announced stores.

Apple has not confirmed its plans to open stores in India, but a report last year by The Economic Times claimed that Apple planned to open its first store in Mumbai in the first half of the next decade. The opening of the store was delayed due to the global health crisis and economic uncertainty.

Apple is said to be planning a second store in New Delhi, as well as other stores in malls and high-end shopping districts across India, with the intent of making retail a large part of its presence in the country.

Apple opened its online store in India in 2020 to give Indian customers a direct way to purchase products directly from Apple.
