Even though the Los Angeles Clippers were locked into the playoffs, head coach Brandon Staley decided to play his starters in the loss to the Broncos.

After initial X-rays were negative, Ian Rapoport reported that wide receiver Mike Williams had a lower back injury.

Jeremy Fowler gave a good update.

Sources describe Chargers WR Mike Williams' back injury as minor, believed to have suffered a spasm. X-ray was negative. 'He'll be OK,' a source said.

Williams had four catches for 32 yards but left the game with an illness.

The wide receiver was helped to the bus from the locker room after the game. Regardless of the situation, the fact that Sunday's game couldn't change the No. 5 seed makes it hard to accept.

Durability at the wide receiver spot was a concern for the Bolts this season, with Williams and Allen each missing time, and they are now dealing with more injuries heading into the playoffs.

Williams surpassed the 1,000-yard mark for the second time in his career in the regular season, finishing with 63 catches for 895 yards and four touchdown.

The Los Angeles Lakers will play the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road. The game will be played in Jacksonville because the hosts are the winners of the division.

Not having Williams on the field would allow the team to focus on slowing down Allen and Ekeler without having to worry about Ekeler beating them on deep balls.

If Williams can't play, Joshua Palmer will get more playing time.
