Half sack costs Justin Houston half a million dollars (0:27)

Since he shares the sack with Odafe Oweh, it costs him $500,000 to take Joe down. The beginning of the story

Houston thought he had earned half a million dollars.

Needing one sack to reach an incentive of 10 for the season, Houston got to the quarterback early in the fourth quarter and somersaulted as he headed off the field. Shortly after, it was decided that the sack would be split between Houston and Odafe Oweh.

Houston was told that he didn't get a sack.

Houston said that it broke his heart. It will be if it was supposed to be.

Houston received half a million dollars when he hit five sacks and another half a million dollars when he hit 7.5 sacks. His salary for the season was $1.12 million.

Oweh was led to believe that Houston only needed a half sack to get incentives.

Oweh was attempting to get a sack. He needed a full one. I'm celebrating with him. They said, "They gave you a half."

Houston led the Ravens with 9.5 sacks. In the last two seasons, Baltimore hasn't had a player reach double digits in sacks.
