Prince Harry was given some advice by the daughter of the late President Reagan.

Davis wrote an op-ed for the New York Times in which he warned the Duke to be careful with his candor.

I wish I hadn't written the book, but my justification was very similar to Harry's. I wanted to tell the truth. She wrote that if she put her own feelings and truths out there for the world to read, her family would understand her better.

The book on the Reagan family was written by Davis.

There was a similarity between her decision-making and that of the prince.

When I read that Prince Harry wrote about his father, King Charles, getting between his sons, I thought of that moment. I had the gift of time with my father, which allowed me to apologize, even though a disease kept us apart. To broaden the story and make it more complete, William's truth has to be considered as well. After William hit him, William told Harry to hit him back, but he refused. He wrote about the fight and did exactly that.

Davis thinks she should not have exposed her family'snermost secrets.

Someone asked me what I would tell my younger self. I said, 'That's easy.' without hesitation. I would have told them to be quiet. It's not permanent. Until I could look at things from a different perspective. Words have consequences and they last a long time. William has been called an 'arch nemesis' by Harry. If he had taken time to be quiet, to reflect on the power of his words, he might have chosen different words.

Patti Davis wishes she chose to "be quiet" when it came to revealing familial turmoil.
