There are rumors that at least a dozen more cuts have been made. The recent cut has cut a deeper wound in the site's already limited moderation team.

Workers in charge of handling misinformation, hate speech, global content, and harassment have been the focus of the layoffs. The future of the content chamber is going to be cloudy. "It made more sense to consolidate teams under one leader (instead of two) for example, and that the newly eliminated roles were under areas of the company that weren't getting enough."

The last few months have been characterized by abrupt changes, widespread company layoffs, and unsolicited interface ideas. In November, almost half of Twitter's full-time employees were suddenly fired.

The site is bound for more chaos because of Musk's ownership.
