According to reports, the Denver Broncos are looking for a new head coach.
The Broncos are going to interview Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh this week, according to Tom and Ian. Sean Payton, who was the coach of the New Orleans Saints, and Harbaugh, who was the coach of the Baltimore Ravens, are both being considered for the job.
Outside candidates are expected to interview for the position, as well as the Dallas Cowboys defensive line coach.
Harbaugh met with Carolina's head-coaching candidate. It would be a surprise if Harbaugh left Michigan for a team in need of such significant work, according to a report by the NFL Network. Harbaugh is a member of the Indianapolis Colts Ring of Honor.
The Broncos job is the best of the three. The team has one of the best defenses in the league, a solid offense with young skill-position players, and Russell Wilson, who is 34 years old with a Hall of Fame resum.
The offensive side of the ball never came close to meshing with the head-coaching spotlight that was thrown his way when he was hired in Denver.
The kind of coach who commands respect in the locker room and has the ability to turn things around is what the Broncos would get with the addition of either Harbaugh or Payton. Harbaugh has won everywhere he's gone as a head coach, starting his career at San Diego University before moving on to Michigan, where he spent four years with the San Francisco 49ers.

Harbaugh expects to come back to Michigan in 2023. It's possible that he's using the NFL interest to get a contract that will make him one of the highest-paid college coaches in the country.
