Scottish Rugby has announced that Ken Scotland, the former Scotland and British and Irish Lions full-back, has passed away at the age of 86.
He made his Scotland debut against France in Paris in 1957 and went on to win 27 caps.
Andy Irvine said that Ken was one of the greatest players to grace the rugby field.
I received personal coaching on full-back play from Ken when I was a senior rugby player and he was my hero as a schoolboy.
He had a great rugby brain and was able to explain his thoughts and ideas to the players. A great player but also a great coach.
Scotland captained his school's rugby, cricket, and tennis teams and won Scottish schools awards.
In the year before he starred in the Lions tour of Australia and New Zealand, he was playing cricket for Scotland.
Scotland was one of the first to be in the hall.
