There is a lot of focus on portable power storage at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. These are more than your average charge-your-phone-once- or-twice battery packs, ranging from simple small power packs to sophisticated power stations that can connect to portable or rooftop solar, and the biggest versions can power your whole home for weeks at a time.

The smallest portable power stations usually come with a few 120v sockets and someusb and cigarette lighter ports. Solid-state batteries, 240V power, wireless charging ports, the ability to plug in additional batteries, and even the high-end rapid are just some of the advanced features that can be found there.

We wouldn't be able to capture everything we saw at the show, but here are a few of the highlights.

EcoFlow’s travel-forward innovations

EcoFlow came out of the blue a few years ago and has established itself as a serious player in portable power. At the Consumer Electronics Show, the company launched a battery powered fridge with ice maker, a portable, an updated version of its battery-powered air conditioning unit, and more. It is rolling out systems for full-house battery backups later this year.

Yoshino’s solid-state batteries

According to the company, its batteries are more stable than those of its competitors. The image was created by Haje Kamps.

The portable power stations built by Yoshino use a new solid electrolyte instead of the liquid one found in most batteries. The company told me that it improved performance. The same amount of power can be found in a smaller, lighter package. A representative for the company said you could shoot the battery pack with a gun, and it wouldn't catch fire. The claim was not verified with a gun.

The company claims that the new batteries can go up to 80% capacity in under an hour and that they can power up to twice as much as traditional batteries. It's definitely one to watch. Wireless charging pads on top of the power stations are a nice touch.

Bluetti powers your whole house

Bluetti has full-house power in the form of the B300S and matching series. The mains power helps keep the batteries topped up. The battery packs jump in when the power goes out. If you want to keep power to everything, you can either design two circuits, one with essential power circuits and one with less essential circuits, or you can keep power to everything.

The Superbase V has a pull out handle and motorized wheels to help you move it around. It can do everything once it is in position. There is a maximum of 64kWh worth of storage available. That is enough to power a typical household for a week, according to the company.

It can be used to power both small appliances and larger home goods. You can charge two electric cars at the same time with up to 12,000 watt of power. The price goes up to $3,300. A price tag north of $15,000 is what you are looking at if you are fully maxed out with four batteries.

Geneverse drives the prices down

Geneverse has a new HomePower 2. The image was created by Geneverse.

Geneverse can be found at Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's, Costco, Sam's Club, and online. Two new power stations were launched by the company. There are three 120V outlets, two 100WUSB-C outputs, and two quick charge sockets.

The price point does not affect the needle in any way. The smaller power station costs less than the larger one. The cost to add two or four solar panels to the power stations is between $2,500 and $4,200. Home owners are starting to see the benefits of at- home backup power. The company chose to use the ultra-high efficiency LFP/ LiFePO4 battery tech. The lifespan of these is around 3000 charge cycles.

Schneider signals that battery storage is here to stay

Home electrics is one of the largest manufacturers. At this year's Consumer Electronics Show, Schneider announced EV chargers, battery packs, new smart panels, and many other things. The image is credited to Schneider.

The smart home panel space has seen a number of startup companies in the past. The big boys are going to join the fun.

The entry of Schneider Electric shows that battery power storage for the home is becoming more and more popular. This is a big deal. Around 40% of all homes rely on the brand for its main breaker panels.

App-controllable, the company launched a brand new energy management solution for home batteries, which included a high-power solar inverter, smart electrical panels, EV chargers, and more. The entire power-supply industry is off to a great start because of the large power-supply companies entering the market. It's not something you can install yourself, but a sign of things to come.
