South Africa and Australia played to a draw on the final day of the Test.

The tourists were asked to follow-on after they were defeated by Australia in a game.

South Africa was 106-2 in the rain-affected match, thanks to a 42 not out from sarel Erwee.

The World Test Championship final will be held at The Oval in London in June after Australia won the series 2-0.

They lost the first test in two days and the second in a day and a half.

The third Test was dominated by Australia, with centuries from Khawaja and Smith setting up the declaration before 49 overs were lost.

South Africa started the final day 149-6 after the top order capitulated to the brilliance of Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood.

South Africa was able to take valuable time out of the final day thanks to a stand of 85 between Maharaj and Harmer.

Their total was the largest of the series, but they missed the follow-on target.

Dean Elgar, the captain, was out shortly before tea for the fourth time in the series to Cummins, having scored 10 to end with an average of 9.33 from sixinnings.

Australia's bowlers struggled to break through on a slow pitch as South Africa recorded their first drawn Test in 47 matches.
