You can expect the comic book counterpart of a few characters to undergo a massive new status quo or show up in more comics as a guest character when a new movie is on the horizon. Sometimes both are used. The run on the group of a-holes by Al and Juan came to an end in 2021. 3 is a comic book about a group of people who are coming out of retirement to do new things.
There is a new run from the writing duo of Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing and the artist of Predator. The story picks up a year after a betrayal from one of the Guardians forced the team to split up, but they will find themselves brought back together thanks to some new redesigns. The talking tree man will be getting his Galactus on in some form or fashion, which is not good for the team or anyone caught in his path.
Grooftall will push the team to their breaking point and drive them to explore new worlds in the Manifold Territories. Lanzing said, "Welcome to a whole new era for theGuardians of theGalaxy, riding like mad through an endless alien dust storm of sun-soaked tragedy, intense violence, and deeply flawed heroes." In a new western-inspired frontier, Peter Quill and his family will have to fight like hell in order to get forgiveness.
Walker said that the book would be very different from the previous runs of the show. Kelly said that Walker's "unique blend of realism and wild imagination" was the perfect fit for his and Lanzing's plans. We are guiding theGuardians on a new trail that will make them look inwards even as they face threats over the next horizon.
The only missing Guardian is Rocket. The foul-mouthed animal will eventually make his way to the team again. Even though the superhero team loves to break up over misunderstandings or betrayals, they always come together to face a new threat. It is unlikely that going to a galaxy that is too small for us will change the publisher's favorite story trope.
On April 12th, the movie will be released.
