According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the Dallas Cowboys have signed a new player.
He has been in the league for 10 years. He played for the Minnesota Vikings for seven years and made three Pro Bowls.
After being cut by the Vikings, Rhodes signed a pair of one-year deals with the Colts.
Rhodes was signed to the Bills' practice squad. He made four tackles in two games after getting a call up to the active roster.
Dallas made the move after Buffalo nixed Rhodes.
Rhodes was released by the Bills in order to make room on the active roster for Mayden, who was signed after Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest. Hamlin is at the medical center.
Hamlin was placed on injured reserve because Buffalo needed more depth at the position because of Hyde's injury.

He earned the nickname "Rhodes Closed" because he was one of the best defensive backs in the league.
The Cowboys decided to make the move because they have an outside chance of making the playoffs.
Kyle Youmans @Kyle_YoumansIf there was a veteran CB worth bringing in, it was Xavier Rhodes. 32-year-old, multi-Pro Bowler, with a chance at some CB depth.
Don't expect any immediate impact on the field, but like T.Y. Hilton, could play a valuable role in the room and possibly in action down the road.
David Howman @_DH44_- Anthony Barr - Malik Jefferson- Mackensie Alexander- Trayvon Mullen- and now Xavier Rhodes
So many defenders Dallas has added this year with either direct or tangential connections to George Edwards. Likely speaks volumes about who they trust to replace Dan Quinn.
Michael Gehlken @GehlkenNFLCowboys are signing three-time Pro Bowl CB Xavier Rhodes to practice squad, a person familiar with move said. Another experienced option at cornerback, where two starters (Anthony Brown and nickel Jourdan Lewis) have been lost for year. Rhodes has made 127 career starts.
As the team closes the regular season Sunday against the Washington Commanders, having a solid veteran in Rhodes as depth and insurance puts the Cowboys in a better position at the position.
