Musk dislikes a law firm that was hired to represent the company in a lawsuit.
It was an error on the part of a member of the team that led to the hiring of Perkins Coie, according to Musk.
He told the news outlet that Perkins wouldn't be representing the social networking site in the future.
Laura Loomer, a far-right activist, brought a lawsuit against Jack Dorsey and the company he co- founded. A self-proclaimed "proud Islamophobe," Loomer was kicked out of the platform due to her "hateful" content.
Musk has criticized Perkins Coie many times.
He said in May that he was not looking for white-shoe lawyers like Perkins who thrive on corruption.
Musk said last month that no company should use the law firm until they make up their minds.
Musk was referring to Michael Sussmann, a former Perkins Coie lawyer and onetime lawyer for Hillary Clinton, who was accused of lying to the FBI in a meeting about former president Donald Trump's links to Russia. In May, Sussmann was acquitted.
According to the report, Perkins Coie is listed as counsel for the social media site in at least six other lawsuits. When asked if Perkins Coie would represent the company in those cases, Musk did not reply immediately.
