There is a bright future for train travel in the area. Brightline is going to the country's theme park capital later this year. The commuter rail station will be located at the convention center near the park's expansion. Guests will be able to visit one of the major theme parks without having to use a car service thanks to this development.
This news has an interesting twist. There was a stop on Brightline at Disney Springs.
We know a lot about the new rail development.
The creation of the Shingle Creek transit utility community development district was announced on Thursday. A new Orange County Convention Center SunRail station will be built and operated by a limited-purpose public entity.
This station will be part of a commuter rail line that will connect the International Drive corridor with the convention center. The train service could come as early as 2030.
John Sprouls, executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Universal Parks and Resorts, said that they are one step closer to creating a multi-directional commuter rail system. It will be easier for residents to get to work, the airport and the places they love with the new SunRail corridor. It will allow businesses to grow in the International Drive area and across the region.

Universal will give $125 million in financing for the project through bonds and contribute $2 million annually for station maintenance and operation. 13 acres of land will be contributed by the resort. Along with a coalition of business owners along International Drive, it will contribute to the district's guarantee of $13 million in annual ticket sales for the sunshine corridor.
