The Askern Medical Practice in England tried to wish its patients a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, but instead sent them a text message saying they had lung cancer.
The message read "Diagnosis - Aggressive lung cancer with metastases" Thank you.

It would take close to an hour for a correction to be sent out.

The timing was not good. The text was sent out two days before Christmas, which made it hard for people to celebrate the holiday.
Sarah was one of the patients who was waiting on the test results.
"I had just had a mole removed and was waiting for a result from a biopsy, so I was very worried."
Carl Chegwin said the text was enough to break someone.
He thought it was a sick joke. People have been told a few days before Christmas that they have terminal lung cancer. They're not able to do that.
This is probably the most embarrassing text we've sent to the wrong person.
