Carlos Correa and the New York Mets have yet to finalize a contract, and now the star infielder's camp is talking to other teams.

According to Jon Heyman and Greg Joyce of the New York Post, Scott Boras' camp re-contacted at least another interested team or two beyond the Mets on Thursday.

Heyman and Joyce said that the Twins were in contact with the agent. The Twins reportedly offered him a 10-year, $285 million deal when he was a member.

Someone within the Mets organization told Heyman and Joyce that they believed the club and Correa would strike a deal.

The source said that Steve Cohen would not let him go.

According to Heyman and Joyce, there is a chance that a deal between the Mets and Astros could be completed this week. There could be a resolution sooner than later.

After his 13-year, $350 million deal with the San Francisco Giants fell through after he failed his physical, the Mets agreed to a 12 year, $315 million deal with him.

The Giants and Mets are concerned about his leg. While he was in the minor league, he had surgery to repair a broken fibula.

The Giants were worried about the long-term stability of his leg and the possibility for his mobility to degrade over the length of his contract, as reported by Jeff Passan. The Mets are likely worried about it.

The initial terms of Correa's deal with the Mets are unlikely to be altered, according to Heyman and Joyce, though the franchise could be looking to protect themselves with important language additions and/or alterations.

If the Mets and Correa can come to an agreement, the veteran would shift to third base. The Mets signed Francisco Lindor to a 10-year, $341 million extension.

The World Series champion would be a great addition to the New York lineup. He earned two All-Star Game selections and was named the American League's rookies of the year.

Over the course of his eight-year career, he has been mostly reliable. He only missed a few games due to a cracked rib and was able to play 75 games.

The Mets have had a great off-season despite the fact that they would like to lock up Carlos Correa.
