Jim Harbaugh said his plans are to remain in his current position despite rumors about a move to the NFL.

Harbaugh said in the statement that he expects to coach Michigan in 2023.

Multiple sources said they expect Harbaugh to leave for the NFL if given the chance, while The Athletic reported that Harbaugh has already spoken to Carolina's owner.

One source told The Athletic that it was done if he got an offer.

The Broncos reached out to Harbaugh to discuss their opening.

The 59-year-old spent four years as an NFL coach with the San Francisco 49ers, accumulating a 44-19-1 regular-season record. In eight years at his alma mater, he has gone 74-26.

In each of the last two years, the University of Michigan has won the Big Ten title and made it to the College Football Playoff.

Harbaugh was interested in the Minnesota Vikings opening but decided to stay at the college level.
