Next month, Delta and T-Mobile will offer in-flight wi-fi for free.

Most domestic mainline flights will have access for passengers on February 1. Delta will offer the service on more than 700 Viasat-equipped aircraft by the end of 2023, and will also offer free wi-fi on international and regional aircraft by the end of 2024.

Passengers can use their Delta SkyMiles account or join SkyMiles to access the internet on future flights.

At work, at home and everywhere in between, your journey on Delta should be no different, Delta CEO Ed Bastian said at the Consumer Electronics Show. Our vision has always been to deliver an experience at 30,000 feet that feels similar to what our customers are used to.

"We wanted free wi-fi to be more than just a base level service, we wanted it to be more than just an onboard experience," said Bastian. It is important that all customers onboard can enjoy their favorite content just as they would at home, and we have put this system through a lot of tests to make that happen.

T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert said staying connected while traveling should be easy. T-Mobile customers already get free in-flight wi-fi and now we're partnering with Delta to bring that experience to all customers, so that anyone flying Delta can enjoy online access from takeoff to touchdown
