A large storm and high tides caused a pier to collapse in California.
Santa Cruz County said the storm caused significant damage across the county with piers in Capitola and Seacliff sustaining heavy damage.

The California Highway Patrol Santa Cruz advised residents to avoid coastal roads due to the flooding.
The video was posted by the highway patrol.
According to a post on the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office's Facebook page, large waves and high tides caused some to be ordered to leave their homes.
If you can safely leave, please do so immediately. Shelter in place and move away from ocean facing windows if you can't evacuate. If you're in danger due to wave intrusion or structural damage, call the emergency number.

There are more storms coming in. After a brief let-up Friday, another atmospheric river is expected this weekend, followed by another early next week and possibly another later next week.
