Hartman is a great addition to the Notre Dame offense as he is the career leader in touchdown passes in the Atlantic Coast Conference. He is second in the history of the conference with over 12,000 passing yards.

The Irish finished the season with a 9-4 record and are projected to start next season highly ranked. In addition to the bowl victory over South Carolina, there were other victories.

Drew Pyne was the starter for the Irish last year and he transferred to Arizona State. In Notre Dame's bowl victory, sophomore Tyler Buchner had three touchdown throws, but his experience and production weren't as good as Hartman's.

Hartman tied the school record for victories in a season with 11 in 2021. He decided to play elsewhere because he was projected as a late round pick.

Hartman played in 12 games after missing Wake Forest's season opener with a blood clot.

Notre Dame plays Navy in Ireland in the opening game of the 2023 season. During Notre Dame's game against Wake Forest, Hartman will see his former teammates and coaches.
