Lazio have been ordered to close part of their stadium after their fans directed racist abuse at two Lecce players.

Stadio Olimpico in Rome will be closed on Sunday for the Empoli game.

Lazio fans made racist chants at Samuel Umtiti and other Lecce players.

Lazio did not agree with the chants.

"Lazio fans are not racist and cannot be associated with a few individuals who seriously harm the club's image," the club said.

All forms of discrimination and racism are against the law. The club will work with the authorities to find out who is responsible.

An announcement calling for the chants to be stopped delayed the match at Via del Mare.

Fans chanted Umtiti's name to drown out the abuse.

Lecce said that epithets were drowned out by encouragement towards the champion.

Infantino took to social media to address the abuse.

He said "solidarity with Samuel Umtiti and Lameck Banda - let's shout it loud and clear: no to racism."

May the majority of fans who are good people stand up and shut up the racists once and for all.

Lazio's stadium was partially closed due to racist behavior by their fans.

Lazio were fined 20,000 euros in 2020 for their fans racist abuse.

Inter Milan's Romelu Lukaku was the target of racist abuse by Napoli fans during the team's loss to the Belgian player.
