BLINK Design Group and its founder, Clint Nagata, have had a banner year, even by their own high standards.

Blink has won many awards for its work on hotels and resorts that are setting a new bar for excellence in the industry.

The award for Best Guestrooms at Ahead Asia was won by BLINK. One judge described BLINK's concept as "steeped in the culture of Kyoto but presented with a beautifully restrained hand."

The judges said that the framing windows draw focus to the lush mountain landscape and flood natural light upon the series of lacquerware and wooden craftsmanship.

At the Asia Ahead awards, Roku Kyoto was a finalist for Best Resort and Best Hotel Interior.

At the prestigious 42nd Gold Key awards, Roku Kyoto was a finalist for Best Luxury Guestroom and Best Lobby. At the Gold Key awards, BLINK's Regent Phu Quoc project made the finals for best luxury resort.

Regent Phu Quoc, the new jewel in the crown of Regent Hotels, required the creation of something special on Vietnam's premier paradise island,Utilising a multi-dimensional approach for every major guest-facing space.

The initial architectural ideas were from Vietnam. Each of the courtyard-like villas has its own pool and has layers of privacy and intimacy. This is an example of a feature in the Vietnamese language.

Nagata and BLINK were nominated for an international award at the 6th Brit List Hotel Design Awards.

BLINK was a finalist for Best Newbuild Hotel and Best Guestrooms in the Middle East. Blink was nominated for Interior Designer of the Year at the Commercial Interior Design Awards.

BLINK created a stunning bohemian vision inspired by traditional Dhow boats, the romance of travel and the ancient Arabic story of Al-Halqa, located in the heart of Al Mina Al Seyahi.

The Fullerton Ocean Park Hong Kong, as well as the Roku Kyoto, made the list. It is all the more surprising that no one has thought that Hong Kong Island's Southside area resembles a Chinese watercolor painting. The Fullerton Ocean Park is located close to the city center and overlooks Aberdeen Harbour and the South China Sea. There are rooftop pool suites, rooms with balconies, and a clutch of tip-top restaurants.

Nagata was delighted to take out Singapore's coveted Interior Designer of the Year 2022.

Nagata said he was honored by the success of his firm. BLINK Design Group is inspired by Nagata's passion for travel and design.

He has spent a lifetime imagining concepts, delivering smart and considered spaces, and wowing guests in some of the most desirable destinations. Nagata moved to Thailand 17 years ago after 13 years withWATG in Hawaii. BLINK now has studios in Singapore and Shanghai, as well as the acquisition of the JID business. Nagata has an open- minded approach that encourages collaboration and creativity.

Nagata steers projects from conception to completion based on big ideas and deep dives into the culture, people and design of a place.

Nagata's design philosophy is to take both clients and guests on a journey that tells the story of a place. We want to create designs that capture the spirit of the place through simplicity, balance, and proportion.

I have never been caught up in trends and trends don't always stay the same. I believe in simplicity, balance, and proportion and have always wanted to be timeless. These design characteristics have always been associated with our designs.

As if we were born and raised in the area, we make it a point to look at the project through the lens of a local.
